Mark 12:43-44 NASB

Calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, "Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury;
for they all put in out of their surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she owned, all she had to live on."

O :

These verse tells me that the poor widow give everything  she have even she have nothing leftover while the others give their extras. Act of giving.  Worshiping God in giving

A :
Giving is not just than giving money.
There are Giving of love.
Giving of encouragement.

What does it mean to give?
Am I willing to give everything to God?
Surrender everything to Him ?
For the poor widow she offered herself to God, have I offered myself to God?

I cared too much of the world.
I cared too much of what the world would think of me.
Fame, money, career etc are the world.
Am I willing to give up all these and give everything I have to Him?

The true value of offering Is not measured by how much we give, but by how much we keep for ourselves.
God sees the heart of giving.

I have to examine my own pattern of giving.
What are things that I need to change?

Always put God first and everything will fall in place.
Spend my time with God
---> praying, reading,  worshiping etc
Humble myself, never become a show for others to see. Giving will always be an act of pure worship and gratitude to the One who gave his all for me.
Give my talent to God. Using our talent to honour God.
As long as I have breathe, I have something to give.

P :

Dear heavenly Father,
I offer You with the most precious gifts You have given me: my youth, my energy, my time, my talent. More than just coins and currency,  I offer my life to You. I empty myself down to the last drop, just as you've done for me.
Thank You Lord,
In the name of Jesus,
AMEN!

Matthew 14:18-21New International Version (NIV)

18 “Bring them here to me,” he said. 19 And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. 20 They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. 21 The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.

O :
These verse tells me that Jesus provided food for His people with His compassion heart. He have the power from our Father to make five loaves and two fish to feed five thousand men, women and children.

A :
I want to be like Jesus,
He do not forsake His people hunger and provided food for them so they will not go home and starve. He is powerful that He can make 5 loaves and two fishes into thousands.
Say thanks before consuming all food.
I also need to bless others.

P :
Thank You Lord.
Amen

Matthew 14:10-16New International Version (NIV)

10 and had John beheaded in the prison. 11 His head was brought in on a platter and given to the girl, who carried it to her mother. 12 John’s disciples came and took his body and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus.

Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand

13 When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns. 14 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
15 As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”
16 Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

O :
These verses tells me that Jesus was going to mourn the death of His beloved mentor John but the crowds caught Jesus attention. He did not walk away from the crowds but instead He moved with compassion and healed and feed the crowds.

A :
How do I deal with hurt and disappointment in my life ?
How do I respond to others when I am hurting ?
Do what Jesus does. In my pain, do for others.
I need to be more like Jesus, Be compassion for others.
Jesus doesn't use his pain as an escape from people, So I should not avoid people if I am hurt.
I need God to transform my grief in to His compassion.
I need to know that I am not alone through this journey, But with Jesus guiding my life.
I should not keep all my suffering to myself but give all my burdens to God my father.
  1. All to Jesus I surrender;
    All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
    In His presence daily live.

  2. P :

  3. Dear Father who is in heaven,
  4. Help me with my pain and struggles in my life, i give it all to you.
  5. Help me to become more like Jesus, Compassion for others.
  6. Love other like how you love me.
  7. Thank you Father,
  8. In the name of Jesus,
  9. AMEN !

Requirements to know TRUTH

Requirements to know TRUTH
(Word of God)

Intent comes before content

1. Spiritual life

John 6:63 NASB
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

2. Intent, desire, will

John 7:17 NASB
If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself.

3. Help in the Holy Spirit -

2 Peter 1:20-21 NASB
But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

Revelation vs Rationalisation

1 Corinthians 2:9-12 NASB
but just as it is written, "T hings which eye has not seen and ear has not heard , A nd  which  have not entered the heart of man , All that God has prepared for those who love Him ."
For to us God REVEALED them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. For who among men KNOWS the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one KNOWS except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may KNOW the things freely given to us by God,

Knowing is something to do with the heart

John 8:10-11 NASB
Straightening up, Jesus said to her, "Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?"
She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more."

O :

These verse tells us that Jesus do not condemn her but instead forgive her sins. And asked her to repent and not to sin again.
Jesus gave chances to her.

A :

Here again, Jesus gave one of His commandments. To repent and to sin no more in John 8:11
We must abide and do His commandments with our heart.
When we say we repent, we must ask the Holy Spirit for help.
We also must ask for forgiveness.
Jesus will forgive you.
But we should not take God for granted.
Not to follow our sinful ways but follow Jesus.

We also should not condemn ourselves.
Even Jesus don't condemn us, why condemn ourselves and others ?

If there's a small island of sin, there's a whole ocean of forgiveness surrounding it.
Romans 5:20 NASB
The Law came in so that the transgression would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more.

His grace > Our sins .

My chains are gone, I've been set free. My God, my saviour has ransomed me. And like a flood His mercy reigns. Unending love, amazing grace.

I know my sins has been forgiven long long ago but I have to treasure His sacrifice always.
And not take it for granted.
We too, must repent and not to sin again.

Jesus is telling us now
REPENT
Ask for FORGIVENESS
GO and SIN NO MORE !

Matthew 3:2 NASB
"Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

This morning my friends and I went for a morning walk and run at Bukit Timah Hill.
The trail was tiring because there is up and down. If we missed a step we might fall. Thank God that the weather was good. We enjoyed much.

How do this morning walk benefits me with our walk with Christ ?

Walking with Christ there might be up and down. Struggles you face. But we must have faith in Him.  Trust Him that He will guide us. He will not forsaken me. We might fall, we might stumble but He will bring us up again. For He is God and powerful and a Father, He loves us very much. He would gladly help us.
The question is are we willing to ask Him for help ?

P :

Dear heavenly Father,
Please forgive my sins.
Thank You Jesus for washing my sins with Your blood.
Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like You have loved me
Break my heart for what breaks Yours
Everything I am for Your Kingdom's cause
As I walk from earth into eternity.
In the name of Jesus,
AMEN.

Romans 1:16-17 NASB
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "But the righteous  man  shall live by  faith ."

O :

This verse tells us that we should not be ashamed of the gospel because everyone who believes will be saved.
We are to be a wise and righteous man with God. (By Faith)
To seek God for righteousness.

A :

I should not be ashamed of reading the Bible in public places like in the train, buses or canteen.
As the gospel is the power of God salvation to everyone who believes it.

In home, I can help to spread gospel so that I can bring salvation to my family.
In school, I can also spread gospel in my class so that I can bring salvation to my friends.

But first, I have to ask God for help so that I am able to preach the right gospel.

What is faith in God?
Faith in God means we rely on him and depend on his reliability. Having faith means realizing that God is bigger, greater, and better than me – and he loves me greatly.

I have to also put my faith in God.
Trust Him with happiness.
Faith tells me no matter what lies ahead of me, God is already there.
To be a righteous man, I first have to put God first. Then I can follow His footsteps to become righteousness.
God = Good = righteousness = perfect

Mark 11:22 NASB
And Jesus answered saying to them, "Have faith in God.

How do I put God first?
I have to humble myself and take away my pride.
I must know I am weak for I need God for help. As He is greater for I am weak.
I need to rely on Him often.
I lean not on my own understanding
I have to give everything to God.
He is my provider.
I must only fear Him and do His will.
Love Him.
Trust in Him.
Let God be God, my master, my king who reign forever.
Lastly, Have FAITH in Him.

Matthew 6:33 NASB
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Word of God is important.
Praying is also important.
So that we can get more more closer to God.

P :

Dear God,
Give me the strength to follow you always. Help me to grow with faith each day. Help me to spread Your words.  Stepping out of our routine to connect with seeks and share the Good News.
Thank You Father,
In the name of Jesus,
AMEN

John 13:34-35New International Version (NIV)

34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

O :
Here is something Jesus has already told us to do. LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

A :
I need not only to love my neighbour  but also my enemy.

Matthew 5:43-48New International Version (NIV)

Love for Enemies

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[a] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

Because He first loved us, We must love one another.

1 John 4:19New International Version (NIV)

19 We love because he first loved us.

We are his disciples, so we must follow him and obey his commandments.
and do his will with our hearts. God sees your Heart and not your outward doing.

P :

I pray that God you will help us to love lavishly, until we are willing to relinquish our rights and lay down our lives for someone else's shalom and future, dreams and success.
Help me to be morel like Jesus : selfless love.

Thank you Father,
In the name of Jesus
Amen

S:

John 2:5New International Version (NIV)

His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

O :
This verse tells us that we should do what Jesus tells us to to.
When Jesus say yes, Nobody can say no.
Listen to Him and do it with your whole heart.

A :
What is God telling me to Do ?
1) Read the bible. Bible tells us what God wants us to do. Read His Words.
2) Do it. After reading His Words, Do His commandments. And not just read and not do it. And Do it with our whole heart.
3) Pray. God can tell me what to do through prayers. Open our listening ears and our hearts. Let Him dwell in our hearts.
4) Stop a moment. Let God speak. And He will guide you.

Matthew 7:24-25 NASB

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock."

P :

Dear Father,
Help me to do you Commandments with my whole heart.
Thank you.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.

John 14:12-15 NASB

Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.  Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.    "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

O :

This verse tells us that if you believe in Jesus, you will do what Jesus do.
When you ask in Jesus name, Jesus will do it to glorified our Father.
If you love God, you will do His commandments.

A :

I believe in Jesus, I will do what Jesus do.
We do this because we are Christians.
I do Jesus way because I want to be more like Jesus. That's the will of our Father who Is in heaven. We are His children and we have to do what our Father ask us to do. Obey him.

If you need anything ASK and you shall receive.

Matthew 7:7-8 NASB
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Matthew 6:33 NASB
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

These verse assures me that God will always hear my needs. But He will give me when it is the right time. (In His time)
I will ask for gifts of foresight and Godly imagination.

We also have to obey our Father commandments.  And do the will of our Father.
I do them because I love my Father not become just the sake of doing.
I fear our Father not because I am scared of Him but because I love Him.
So I will do His commandments.

P :

Thank you Father for hearing my needs.
Holy Spirit dwell in my heart, help me in this season. And do the will of my Father.
I alone cannot do it. Help me to become more like Jesus.
In the name of Jesus,
AMEN.

Leviticus 19:34New International Version (NIV)

34 The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.

O :
This verse tells us to love our foreigners in Singapore.
Welcome them to our country wholeheartedly.
Treat them as they are our people.
And God is Lord of all man kind

A :
I have to change my mindset towards them. Change our myopia.
To love them and not looked down on them of their nationalities, histories, and cultures. But embrace them into our cultures.
To love foreigners in warm and welcoming ways so that they will feel at home in our city.

Mark 12:31New International Version (NIV)

31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[a] There is no commandment greater than these.”

I should not exclude foreigners. . .
And i will follow Jesus who loves foreigners as much as He loves the born-and-bred here....

P :
[Extracted from lovesingapore]
Lord, in identificational repentance, we confess that we have looked
down on people of other nationalities, histories, and cultures. We repent of
disdaining those who are not born-and-bred here. We repent of our pride and
prejudice. We have violated your commandment to treat the foreigner as a local and to love him like one of our own (LEVITICUS 19:34). Deliver us from our myopia. Forgive our xenophobia. Forgive us for using such things as the Little India Riot to pour fuel on the fire of anger and resentment. Forgive our mob-like reaction online—totally incongruent with our claim to be a First World city with a highly educated population (DEVADAS KRISHNADAS, TODAY ONLINE 9 DECEMBER 2013). We’ve tarnished our reputation among the nations. We’ve made a mockery of our Antioch call. We repent. Set us free to love foreigners in warm and welcoming ways so that they will feel at home in our city.

God wants us to help the needy.

A :

I need to become more like Christ so that I can be a soul winner.
I need to change so people around me will see that In Christ I am a changed person.
And also to help those who are in need.
We cannot forsake them.

Unshakable foundation

Unshakable foundation
-Digging Deep
Matthew 7:21-23
Luke 6:46-49
Hebrews 12 : 25-29

We will all be shaken
Questions:

1) when will we be shaken?
2) How then should I build so that when my house is shaken, it will stand and not be destroyed?
3) what can we learn the similarity and the differnece of the two builders and two houses?
Study Matthew 5,6,7

Be a wise builder. He did the will of the Father. Dug deep.
Your walk with Jesus. That you will effect the people around you.
One life. What are you doing with that life ?

Outwardly is similar
One has strong foundation, it is only the building is shaken then can review the importance of the foundation.

Your walk with God will be shaken.
Matthew 7:21-23
But he who does the will of my Father in heaven.

Are you doing the will of the Father?
Do you know what is his will ?
Fulfilled the heart of God
He don't change his mind
Child of God. We are already christian.
Desire for Him

Pay attention the red words in the Bible.

Ask the Holy Spirit for help to understand his words.

Beatitude love, joy ,peace ,long suffering self control. To see your condition of your heart. To birth a spiritual hunger.  For God's righteousness.

I am not God, let God be God
Begin with the heart of God. That's why Jesus came. Came to fulfilled the God ways. People for himself- his images and likeness.

We must bear the image and the likeness of Jesus Christ.
Behave like a christian.
Worship is sacrifice, services.
Work of grace. Deep work of the Holy Spirit to change us to become more more like Jesus. To discipline you. He punishes.

Unforgiveness
Unresolved issue
Hatred

Cannot take it for granted.

Wake up wake up! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Resolve them. Listen to the words of Jesus.

We do these sayings because we are Christians. On going work of Grace and Faith in our hearts--->Outwards obedience

Without them we will walk with our old sinful nature.

Unless the heart changes, nothing changes.
The fruit of Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:28-48
Jeremiah
Philiainas 1:6
Philippians 1:6 NASB

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

Part 2
27 July 2014

acts 2:14-21

Acts 2:21 NASB
And it shall be that  everyone who  calls on the name of the Lord will be saved .

We are living in the end times.
Church is getting better.
God is doing greater work in the church.
Everyone is included.
God hearts is to include all of us.
Doesn't matter what race, colours, age, status. . .
YOU ARE INCLUDED!

Sons and Daughters of faith.
believing in Jesus.
John 1:12

God has reserved the best for the last.
If you are child of God,  you can hear God's voice clearly.
Hold on to word of God.
We can Prophesy.
Sign and wonders.
We need this gift of this prophesy desperately.
Not only me but for others.
We can make a difference in someone's else life.
We don't treasure the gift because we are too selfish.
We need the Holy Spirit.
The gift is given to us to bless the church.
We need one another desperately.

Ability to listen
Listen twice before you speak.
Learn to pick up things.

Most important is your Heart.
When your heart is right, you are qualified.

Takes humility.
God comes and dwell in us.
Sense the presence of God.
See as God see.
You can hear what God want to say.
Be God's mouth piece.
Receive the word.
Filled with Holy Spirit,  filled with the heart of Father.
Important to God. I am unique.
A person of worth.
God value us. Simply because we are His children.
Move with compassion of Jesus.
Trigger deep inside my heart.

Part 3
3 Aug 2014

Good news --->To help us to have an unshakeable foundation for a new beginning.

The Beatitudes
Matthew 5:3-12
Essential character and Characteristics of a christian.

Starting point starts with us.
Who we are?
We are a human being and not human doing.
We will do what the Lord wants us to do.
We will reveal the heart of the Lord to the unbelievers.
We fulfil from the heart. We need to change our hearts. A renew heart.

Religion tells you to do good to BECOME a saint
Christianity tells you to do good BECAUSE you are a saint.

What was the Lord mind ? ?
Matthew 7:21-23

Words of Jesus. . .
Stop and pay careful attention to these verses.

Why the Lord gives these warnings?

1) is there proof, is there evidence that you are truly christian ?

2) your Outwards works must be from the new life of Christ in you.

3) we must do or fulfil the Father's will

Are you doing the will of the Father ?
We do with geniue faith !
What we do are important !
What we do must come from the right source.
We must not have self - righteousness but the righteousness for God.

We are save through grace and not our works.

When we do good works, what is our attitude ?
Do you do it that you really know that you are no difference ?

Mourn of our sins first, then the others.

God includes all of us. Open up our heart and invite the Holy Spirit to do the work. To build the unshakable foundation.
Do the Father's will.

Man was to be like Christ-like.
Jesus came to do the will of the Father.
To make Many like Himself.
God desire us to become His child.

Devil and sins did not change the will of the Father.

John 1:12

Is that your desire to be His child ??

You become a full grown mature son of God.
Is the new life of Christ growing in me or still unchanged?
Grow to become more and more like Jesus.

The Father's will
1) He wants you to be His child, He wants to be your Father.
2) He wants you to be a full-grown, mature son of God.

Cries out for God. Ask God for help to be more like Christ-like.
When we fail and stumble, call out the Holy Spirit for help.
Say no to the flesh and say yes to the Holy Spirit.
More and more we can see the fruit of the spirit.

With all the blessing we need to be blessed and be a blessing.

With all the blessing for both here and the hereafter

With all the blessing in every area of our life

S :

Isaiah 61:1-2 NASB
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the L ord has anointed me To bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to captives And freedom to prisoners; To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord . . .

O :

This verse tells us that the Spirit of the Lord God anointed Jesus to heal and save those who are weak. In need of Jesus.

Jesus's julibee manifesto gives centre stage to the weak and vulnerable.
The poor. The broken - hearted.  The blind
The bound. The oppressed.

A :

Jesus is a good God. He is our savior.
He loves the sick and the weak.
Seek Jesus for help in my prayers and my everyday life.
I know Jesus loves me.
For I am weak He is strong

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NASB
And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

I need to be more like Jesus.
I must help people who are in need.
I will be blessed to give than to receive.
And do it with my whole heart . . .

Acts 20:35 NASB
In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' "

We need to also ask The Holy Spirit for help and guidance. In our prayers we can ask the Holy Spirit to come and dwell in our hearts.  The Holy Spirit will anointe us with our Father gifts.
I will Pray to ask Holy Spirit help me in my everyday life.

P :

Father,  thank you for sending Jesus to save us all. And to heal our soul.
Thank you Jesus for your blood to wash our sins away. And forgive us.  "Amazing Grace how sweet that sound " you gave us amazing grace.
Come, Holy Spirit dwell in our hearts.
Come and guide us in this season.
Give me the new experience that you want me to dwell on.
Father, I thank You that You have heard me. I know that You will always hear me.
Thank You Lord !
Yes, we need You Lord.
In the name of Jesus,
AMEN.

John 17:16 NASB
They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

O :

This verse tells us that we are in the world but not OF the world.

A :

If we do not have the word of God and practice them.
We would have sold our soul to the world.
World is filled with evil.
That means we become in and of the world.
Then we become what the world makes us.

We need to know our position in Christ first -- child of God.
Then we can walk and conduct with God.
This way we will do the way of God and not the way of the world.
In short, world is evil , God is good.
Who do you wanna side?
Evil or Good ?
Do not become what the world want us to be.
But become what God want us to be.

P :

Father, I pray that You will protect me from the evil world. So that I will not be influence by the world.
Thank you Lord
In the name of Jesus,
AMEN.

We must not serve other 'gods'.

As He will bring GOOD.

Our Father in Heaven, we confess that:
Instead of loving and serving others in the power of the Spirit, we have
often used money and power, systems and policies to control others. Lord,
have mercy on us.
Instead of using our business to build up your people, we have often used
your people to build up our business. Lord, have mercy on us.
Instead of uniting your Church by humbly serving like Jesus, we have often
asserted ourselves, divided churches, and alienated fellow disciples. Lord,
have mercy on us.
Father, forgive us for yielding to the temptation of power. Heal the wounds
we have inflicted on ourselves by insisting on our own way. Heal those we
have wounded by wielding the wrong kind of power.

S :

Matthew 4:7New International Version (NIV)

Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[a]

Deuteronomy 6:16New International Version (NIV)

16 Do not put the Lord your God to the test as you did at Massah.

O :

Signs and wonders have their place. But only on God’s terms
and in his timing. Jesus will not be a spiritual stuntman. He
only does what he sees the Father doing. He will not make
God the subject of an experiment. Faith demands no proof.

A :

This verse tells me that God does not follow my way and my timing.
And we should not test Him. Trust Him and let Him plan our future and depend on Him without doubts.

P :
Father, Please forgive me for my sins for I have upset you.
I repent from my sins.
Amen
