Matthew 14:10-16New International Version (NIV)

10 and had John beheaded in the prison. 11 His head was brought in on a platter and given to the girl, who carried it to her mother. 12 John’s disciples came and took his body and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus.

Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand

13 When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns. 14 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
15 As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”
16 Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

O :
These verses tells me that Jesus was going to mourn the death of His beloved mentor John but the crowds caught Jesus attention. He did not walk away from the crowds but instead He moved with compassion and healed and feed the crowds.

A :
How do I deal with hurt and disappointment in my life ?
How do I respond to others when I am hurting ?
Do what Jesus does. In my pain, do for others.
I need to be more like Jesus, Be compassion for others.
Jesus doesn't use his pain as an escape from people, So I should not avoid people if I am hurt.
I need God to transform my grief in to His compassion.
I need to know that I am not alone through this journey, But with Jesus guiding my life.
I should not keep all my suffering to myself but give all my burdens to God my father.
  1. All to Jesus I surrender;
    All to Him I freely give;
    I will ever love and trust Him,
    In His presence daily live.
